What Anarchists Don't Get "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." It's not just nice words: it's a practical matter of getting from what almost any free individual would come to as a reasonable set of rights for free individuals to a situation in which those individuals are actually free to practice those rights. Legitimate government is one of the great creations of the human social animal. |
